If there are people who balk at a proposed $75 million state benefits package for veterans and active military, Al Loehr is not one of them.
"When you've got men and women fighting and defending our country and bringing us the peace we enjoy, they deserve to get a little break when they return," the World War II veteran, former St. Cloud mayor and longtime veterans advocate said Monday, after watching Gov. Tim Pawlenty unveil the plan at the Capitol.
